Are you aware of the energy issues that we are facing today? Perhaps you would like to help educate those who would like to be informed or maybe you'd like some information on these issues yourself. If either apply, please join us at USF's Tampa Campus for "Energy Action Week" from April 11th through April 18th. Our goal is to promote "Awareness to Action" on key energy issues, from Solar and Wind to Coal and Nuclear. Our events below are meant for anyone across the bay area, not just students, so please contact me if you are interested in attending or having a table.
Saturday, April 11th - E.A.R.T.H. Service Day starting at Marshall Center's Atrium at 9 am. and ending at 1pm. Start the week off with volunteering at either Sweetwater Organic Farm, Community Stepping Stones, Croc Encounters, Mayors Beautification Project in Roulette Park, Lowry Park Zoo, and Keep Hillsborough County Clean.
- Green Tea Party at Kaleisia Tea Lounge, 7pm - 10pm - Join us for a potluck to help fundraise for the Southern Energy Network.
Monday, April 13th - Green Light Special at Marshall Center Rm. 2709, 7pm - 11pm. A double feature screening of "The 11th hour" and Kilowatt Ours". Discussion will follow.
Tuesday, April 14th - Kickin' it Clean, Makin' it Green, 10am - 4pm, location tba. A tabling event to help educate and take action on important energy issues.
Wednesday, April 15th - Die-In and Improv Performance titled "Clean Energy vs. Dirty Energy". Lawn near Marshall Center, from 11 am - 3 pm.
Thursday, April 16th - Lobby Day from 8am till 9:30 am. Meet up at Marshall Center then attending City Council meeting to speak about Green jobs.
Saturday, April 18th - EarthFest at Sweetwater Organic Farm - 9 am - 4pm. Theme is "Building a Just and Sustainable Tampa". Please join us for a townhall meeting and community dialogue with city and county representatives, along with workshops on sustainability, live music, and "Green" vendors.
