Living theatre for thinking minds!
Tucked away in the same Tampa location for 16 years, the Gorilla Theatre boasts an intimate, welcoming environment and a fascinating season of plays and music.
Don't miss "An Oak Tree" September 4-21.
I've never lived in the Bay but I saw a movie once where people lived in a bubble under the water - always thought that would be kind of fun to live with the dolphins.
I like Tampa because it's centralized and you can pretty much get whatever your interested in without having to go far from home.
How long have you lived here?
Since I was 3 (please don't make me do the math)
What neighborhood do you live in, why did you choose it and what do you like about it?
Temple Terrace - it was close to the job that I had at the time, but now I love it here. I live between Busch Gardens and 301 - how diverse is that?
If you were to move to a different neighborhood, what would it be and why?
If I were to move it would have to be to the mountains so that I could have a cabin, but since I hate to pack I don't see that move happening anytime soon.
What is your favorite thing about Tampa?
I love the diversity of the city. I've lived here almost all my life and I'm just starting to realize the extent of its culture and history.
What kinds of things are you involved in?
Not involved with much right now, that's why Brand Tampa is so interesting to me.
Tell us about what you do.
I enjoy writing and have finished one book so far and am actually working on three others right now. I seem to write in spurts and about many different things. My writings range for romance to tween to adult fiction.
I used to do volunteer work with low income children and am looking for something to get back involved in.
If you live in Tampa, Why do you stay?
My home is paid for and I haven't found a reason to leave.
Where else have you lived?
Clarksburg, WV; Clearwater, FL; Palm Harbor, FL; New Port Richey, FL
Hi Charlene,
Thanks for your kind words. Actually, my mom drew that picture of me when I was only 5 years old. (Fifty years ago.) I use that image because I like the idea that she drew it of me and titled it "The little princess." It makes me feel like a princess. I always thought I dissappointed her, but now I realize maybe not.
As I writer, I like humor and sci-fi weird stuff. Think Douglas Adams with a little Bradbury thrown in. I also write non-fiction personal essays. And I am trying my hand at freelancing. I just got a gig ghost-writing the tell-all auto-biography of a stripper. I think it will be a fun project.
Do you have a home page or blog where I can read your stuff?
I'm hanging out with Clark and he's raving about your writing. I hope you let him influence you enough to get on twitter and come to our next TweetUp - very cool people & great networking. I see you are looking for next volunteer opp with low income children - I've got something that might interest you...
