Profile Information

If you live in Tampa Bay, Why are you here?
I came to Tampa to get my undergraduate and graduate degrees from USF. I stay here for my job and better half, Alex.
How long have you lived here?
Six years but just discovered the city about 1 year ago!
What neighborhood do you live in, why did you choose it and what do you like about it?
It depends on the day of the week. I live in North Tampa and I can't stand it. It is so far away from everything and there are no events out that direction. I chose it because it was close to USF where I went to Grad School. I also live out in Riverview area. I love the openness out there and the fact that the crosstown is right there. Thank goodness for the crosstown!!!
If you were to move to a different neighborhood, what would it be and why?
I would move to the lofts in Ybor or South Tampa. I love lofts but I have a big dog that is scared of any noise (which is why it is nice to live out in the middle of nowhere!) I love South Tampa because the houses are not cookie cutters.
What is your favorite thing about Tampa?
The best thing about Tampa is the energy and the people that make Tampa!
What kinds of things are you involved in?
I love to be involved in anything that has a meaning behind it, individuals I respect and things that are engaging.
If you live in Tampa, Why do you stay?
I live here and stay here because I love what Tampa is all about!
Where else have you lived?
I have lived in New York, South Carolina, Colorado and Orlando

OPEN AUDITIONS:
Ellen Mueller is seeking physical and improvisational performers of all types for two free collaborative workshops exploring the concepts of success and evaluation.

About the Workshops and Ellen Mueller:
These two free workshops will be led by Ellen Mueller at the University of South Florida Marshall Student Center, February 28 & March 1, Noon – 4:00pm, and April 4 & 5, Noon - 4:00pm. The approach for these workshops is based on techniques gleaned from yoga, the Brave New Institute – an improvisation training center in Minneapolis, MN, the Theatre of the Emerging American Moment – a theatre company dedicated to dissecting and celebrating the experience of living in America today, and Viewpoints – a technique for building ensembles and creating movement. Specifically, we will explore our collective response to the concepts of success and evaluation. Our goal is to gather and develop images, ideas, questions, situations, and characters through the practice of movement and improvisational exercises. Participants can expect to learn about the Eight Secrets of BNW Creativity, as well as an approach to collaborative creation. The material collected will be used as research for new performance works, and may lead to future collaborations with workshop participants.

Ellen Mueller was raised in Fargo, ND and currently lives and works in Tampa, FL. She received a BA in Theatre and Art, and a BS in Design Technology from Bemidji State University. She is currently pursuing her MFA in Studio Art with emphasis on performance at University of South Florida. For more information about recent projects, please visit EllenMueller.com

Audition Details:
Tuesday, January 6, 2009, 7pm – 9pm

University of South Florida
Fine Arts/FAH Room 280
4202 E. Fowler Avenue
Tampa, FL 33620

Instructions:
Wear clothing appropriate for movement. Please bring a headshot, or a snapshot that clearly displays your face. No prepared material is necessary. The audition will consist of movement and improvisation exercises, and may be conducted individually or in groups as the schedule allows. If you have any special talents, musical skills, etc, please be prepared to share them. You will be asked to indicate which of the two workshop dates you are available for, or if you are available for both. To reserve an audition slot, please email Ellen at emmuelle@mail.usf.edu with your availability between 7-9pm on January 6, 2009. If you are interested in the project, but are unavailable on this audition date/time, please feel free to contact Ellen to make alternative arrangements.

Great. I've been out of town and wasn't sure if I'd miss anything. Is there anything you'll need help with than logo? I'd love to attend the meetings so I can just stay in the loop. Any more help I can give I'll offer. It feels good to be involved finally in the Tampa scene:)

Hi Christina,

I met you at the meeting for Chalk Walk. I'm with Ad Partners. Just wanted to say hi. I'm excited about being involved in the event.

I'm always looking for ways to get more involved in the arts around these parts (oooh - a writer that rhymes!), so let me know if anything ever comes up that you need help with. I look forward to helping make Chalk Walk a kick ass event!
