Went to undergrad here at USF, left. Came here to cool off a year after Grad School, stayed because of opportunity.
How long have you lived here?
1992-1995, 1998 - present.
What neighborhood do you live in, why did you choose it and what do you like about it?
Tampa Heights. Close to Downtown and far more affordable than either Downtown or Seminole Heights. Large old house with plenty of charm to spare and a big yard. Diverse neighborhood. Right in the middle of where I want to be.
If you were to move to a different neighborhood, what would it be and why?
I would stay somewhere close to Downtown where I can have my own yard - Ybor, Seminole Heights, Riverside Heights.
What is your favorite thing about Tampa?
It's still a city with a tremendous amount of potential, it's right on the cusp of greatness.
What kinds of things are you involved in?
Jobsite Theater
Tell us about what you do.
I am the Producing Artistic Director of Jobsite Theater, we are the resident theater company at TBPAC. I act, direct, produce, administrate and kick in technically where needed.
When I'm not on the clock I enjoy cooking, DIY projects, making my backyard nice, travel, damn fine beer, pub games, playing guitar, playing videogames and especially playing videogames where I get to hold a guitar.
If you live in Tampa, Why do you stay?
Jobsite has been on an upward climb, I stay because I believe it can achieve permanence.
Where else have you lived?
Jacksonville and Gainesville, FL - but I'm very well-traveled.

Hi David,

We REALLY need your support this weekend for The Lieutenant of Inishmore. Can you please try to come out, and get a ticket in advance? We're still trying to pay for this bloody awesome monster!
Do you know anyone who might be willing for do a shoot for me for a 1.5 minute webcommercial this Friday??? My actor just backed out on me and I am going to have heart failure. What I am looking for below and a person with their own costume is a serious plus!!!! Please forward it on to whoever might be interested and have them contact me ASAP if they are up for it.
We will probably need 1-2 hours of their time for filming, hopefully this Friday January 30th. This is a non-speaking roll and mime experience is a real bonus. This is a volunteer acting part, but I will be supplying some MOSI passes and copy of the finished webcommercial with their name in the credits.
This webcommercial is for a grant and will likely also be used for MOSI publicity on our websites.
Please pass on this contact information to anyone interested. Thanks for any help you can provide!!!

I'm looking for 3 actors who are comfortable in front of the camera. The project is very brief - the shoot would take no more than an hour. The 3 characters I am casting act as endorsers for a new self-help product being promoted via a faux infomercial. This is a performance art project and the product is fictional. I am looking for people between the ages of 18 and 40 to fill these 3 roles. There is no compensation, however the actors will be listed in the credits of the film and can link to the finished piece on YouTube. Additionally, this short film will be featured during a live performance art piece on February 17, 2009.
Ideally, I would like to complete the shoot by the middle of January, and I am very flexible to the actors' schedule. Please feel free to contact me if you or anyone you know might be interested.
Thanks!

OPEN AUDITIONS:
Ellen Mueller is seeking physical and improvisational performers of all types for two free collaborative workshops exploring the concepts of success and evaluation.
About the Workshops and Ellen Mueller:
These two free workshops will be led by Ellen Mueller at the University of South Florida Marshall Student Center, February 28 & March 1, Noon – 4:00pm, and April 4 & 5, Noon - 4:00pm. The approach for these workshops is based on techniques gleaned from yoga, the Brave New Institute – an improvisation training center in Minneapolis, MN, the Theatre of the Emerging American Moment – a theatre company dedicated to dissecting and celebrating the experience of living in America today, and Viewpoints – a technique for building ensembles and creating movement. Specifically, we will explore our collective response to the concepts of success and evaluation. Our goal is to gather and develop images, ideas, questions, situations, and characters through the practice of movement and improvisational exercises. Participants can expect to learn about the Eight Secrets of BNW Creativity, as well as an approach to collaborative creation. The material collected will be used as research for new performance works, and may lead to future collaborations with workshop participants.
Ellen Mueller was raised in Fargo, ND and currently lives and works in Tampa, FL. She received a BA in Theatre and Art, and a BS in Design Technology from Bemidji State University. She is currently pursuing her MFA in Studio Art with emphasis on performance at University of South Florida. For more information about recent projects, please visit EllenMueller.com
