Came for a job. Stayed for the friendships we developed. Oh, yeah, and the kids were happy and doing well in school. No small thing that.

How long have you lived here?

16 years

What neighborhood do you live in, why did you choose it and what do you like about it?

Davis Islands. Oddly enough, it felt immediately like the small town in Alabama we were moving from.

If you were to move to a different neighborhood, what would it be and why?

A neighborhood with a strong sense of neighborhood. And sidewalks. But we're not moving.

Tell us about what you do.

I'm an advertising guy. A copywriter for 40 years. But I've just started an employee relations business called Cranial Garage. I try to get right and left brained people working together.

If you live in Tampa, Why do you stay?

Friendships.

Where else have you lived?

Fairhope. Montgomery, Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, Alabama. And various towns in Vermont.
