If you live in Tampa Bay, Why are you here?

I've just retired and lived in Arlington, VA. I'm here to enjoy all that Tampa has.

What neighborhood do you live in, why did you choose it and what do you like about it?

I'm not sure yet. Sis-in-law lives in Seffner

If you were to move to a different neighborhood, what would it be and why?

It would be fun to be by the water.

What is your favorite thing about Tampa?

Everyone that I talk to who has lived here seems to have good things to say about Tampa

What kinds of things are you involved in?

As I'm retired, I'm looking into doing fun things like road trips, learning how to speak spanish, learning to play the guitar, etc, etc

Tell us about what you do.

Any damn well thing that I want.

If you live in Tampa, Why do you stay?

I'm hoping its a great place to live.

Where else have you lived?

Primarily, Arlington, Virginia. I did a short stint over in Germany for the Army.

There to here - A life changing event

So finally I am retired and we've arrived in Tampa. I don't feel retired yet. I feel like I'm on vacation as we're in a hotel right now. Two days driving from Washington DC with two kitties. Are we there yet ? The kitties were freaked out and scrambled under the box springs where we had to tear the bed apart to get to them. Cats always find the hardest place to get them out of. After a week here they're finally starting to mellow out. Except when the maid comes.

Look out Tampa

About 18 months ago, I passed a milestone. I received a certificate from HR that said I had completed 30 years. A little light bulb flashes and you realize, "OMG, I could retire." Then you come to the realization that the only way you can do this is if you cut your expenses. Sell the house and grab your nest egg. It only took 18 months but we did it. Two realtors, 80K in renovations, and multiple reductions in our price. I'm not complaining.
